Blood On the Streets of Ventura County

Do you wanna know how bad gun violence has gotten in the United States?

We just had a mass shooting at yet another crowded bar, this time in Thousand Oaks, CA where some of the people getting killed at this shooting had survived the biggest mass shooting of our time in Las Vegas just one year ago.

That's right. Gun violence has gotten so commonplace that people are starting to rack up repeat appearances like frequent flyer miles.

The NRA can start a goddamn giveaway. Survive ten shootings, get one shooting free.

This is where our nation is right now. We're almost to one mass shooting a day.

The gun nuts are starting to run out of fresh victims, and are getting to the leftovers.

GODS HELP US.

C&W music isn't that popular out here, so it makes a kind of sense that there were some people in both audiences, but still...
Also, if the NRA hadn't sued to stop the enforcement of the high-capacity magazine ban, perhaps fewer folks would have had holes blown in them.
If we were dealing with sane people, the fact that one of the first people killed was a Sheriff's deputy would put the whole "good guy with a gun" argument to bed, but we're not, and given the other characteristic, that is that they are armed, it makes it a little scary.
I was brought up with guns, so they don't freak me out like they do some folks, but I was also taught how to safely handle them and that there are non-appropriate places and times for having them.
After I moved to Oakland in '84, I decided that any large metropolitan area was one of those places. They just do more harm than good in the city, and that's a fact.
