Like the base itself, which was construct... I agree. Like the base itself, which was constructed by the southern strategy in order to win elections with the reactionary/racist vote (and against the advice of the nominally sane in the party) and is now fully in control of the party they were recruited to serve, the deregulation of campaign finance is now allowing almost any crazy with a pet billionaire to play in the presidential election, to the detriment of the party's overall chances, and brand perception. It seems to me to be bad for democracy, but if it at least keeps Jeb!, Trump, and/or Walker out of the White House this time, then I guess I can live with it for now and try to push whoever does get in to change things as much as they can.
