"Maybe there is, I don't know."
Worst weasel words you will ever see.
He says it, but oh hey He's not so sure about what he's talking about.
But he still throws it out there for consumption, for discussion and outrage and panic and despair.
He will say these words after he will say "oh, I'm the smartest guy I know, I know everything." And then wimp out by saying "I don't know" after he spells out an idea that is bound to cross a line of decency that should never be crossed.
He says it like he's telling a joke, but a real joke involves bathos, deprecation, a tweaking of the norms. A joke does not involve the demolition of the norms, nor does it resort to bullying and bloodshed.
"Maybe there is, I don't know."
He tries to hide so much behind those fraudulent excuses he gives right after he says the inexcusable.
He knows what he's saying. He thinks it's how he'll win.
John Cole warned us of Peak Wingnut, and then it turned out Peak Wingnut is a lie because the wingnuts will never reach their plateau when it comes to fake outrage and delusional ideology.
Now look to the opposite when it comes to Trump. Nadir is the antonym of Peak. Here comes Nadir Trump. That too is a lie because Trump will keep sinking beneath every line, every norm, every layer of common sense and decency.
And you, Republicans, you let him loose.
