If you consider it good news, the Democratic-led House has already passed two bills that ought to fix a lot of our security problems surrounding our electoral system, and strengthening the laws blocking foreign involvement.
Sorry to report, however, that Senate Majority Bastard Mitch McConnell is still a partisan sonofabitch willing to destroy the nation. Using his control of the other branch of Congress, the Senate isn't even taking one quick peek at the House bills, with McConnell accusing the Democrats - like he accused Obama back in 2016 when the first warnings were issued about Russian interference - of being the partisans trying to hijack the elections. Per Nancy LeTourneau at the Washington Monthly:
...Just as we’ve seen with Trump, he is sending a message to Vladimir Putin that he welcomes another attack. But it’s not just Putin. The invitation also goes out to other foreign adversaries, like China, Iran, and North Korea. You have to wonder why McConnell would be so confident that—to the extent that any of those countries interfered in the 2020 election—it would be to benefit Republicans. And if the only way for the GOP to survive politically is to invite foreign interference in our elections, the party of Lincoln has been completely corrupted.
McConnell won't lift a finger because he knows the Republicans cannot win in a fair fight, not in the Presidential election and maybe even in the Senate campaigns (all the Democrats have to do is keep their seats and flip three battleground states to claim control in that branch). McConnell wants the interference from Russia and other nations because it will help justify the GOP Narrative of Voter Fraud to ensure the can suppress results in the Red states they control.
There's a reason why #MoscowMitch is trending on Twitter.
There's a reason why Mitch McConnell deserves the deepest pit of Hell when he passes on.

Malcolm Nance says we should drag impeachment out until after the lame duck just to spite Mitch for what he did to Merrick Garland, but I feel like any time after the election is fine, as long as we wait until right after the conventions to hold the impeachment hearings on live TV...
I know he has a credible opponent this time and his numbers are dismal, but I just want to see the look on his face when he loses the majority.
I'm not generally a vindictive person, but I'll make an exception for Mitch.
